Two prints commissioned to be based on an afternoon in Brighton, England 2008 and the 2009 Disintegration.
Girls sitting in the curb chatting, buskers with guitar and shoe strings missing, red raw tattoos and hen do's are just a few things noticed in these two prints. Both formed around star shapes, which was a symbol Holden saw on a lot of people and clothing,
the details of these prints try to sum up the atmosphere and what caught his eye this afternoon in Brighton. Using the same technique as in the Berlin series Holden has manipulated a sign that use to read No Begging No Busking No Street Selling into No Poverty, Talent or Initiative and in a similar way you can see the Brighton sign on the surviving pier turned into part of the lyrics of a song he heard playing whilst walking along it......and people got needs................and people need love.
